Meta has made paid consumer subscription tiers available globally for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp users, and has begun testing new AI-focused business subscriptions under the Meta One brand.
Consumer Plus tiers — prices and key features
- Instagram Plus: $3.99 per month
- Facebook Plus: $3.99 per month
- WhatsApp Plus: $2.99 per month
The Instagram and Facebook Plus plans are aimed at self-expression and audience-building. Features highlighted by the company include the ability to list viewers of Stories, extend Stories beyond 24 hours, a weekly Spotlight feature, and the option to set custom app icons and profile fonts.
WhatsApp Plus focuses on messaging personalization, offering custom themes, ringtones, additional pinned chats and premium sticker packs.
These consumer packages do not replace the previously introduced Meta Verified service, which remains focused on verification and protection against profile impersonation.
Meta One — AI features and higher compute tiers
Meta is also testing Meta One-branded AI subscriptions for consumers:
- Meta One Plus: $7.99 per month
- Meta One Premium: $19.99 per month
Both packages provide the same AI features, but the Premium tier offers greater compute capacity. The higher compute tier is intended to enable more advanced problem solving for complex tasks and expanded video and image generation capabilities. Basic use of Meta AI will remain free.
Testing of the new AI consumer packages is scheduled to start next month in Singapore, Guatemala and Bolivia.
Business subscriptions testing — verification, reach and analytics
For creators and businesses, Meta is also beginning tests of two additional packages this week, initially in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand and Bangladesh:
- Meta One Essential: $14.99 per month — includes a verification badge, anti-impersonation protection and an expanded link collection page.
- Meta One Advanced: $49.99 per month — adds prioritized placement in the Facebook feed, improved ranking in Instagram and Facebook search, a prominent "Follow" button on Reels and automatic invites to users who interacted with content.
The Advanced package also enables clickable links in Instagram posts and Reels, provides deeper competitor and custom audience analysis, optimized scheduling tools, and immediate alerts if others reuse a subscriber’s content.
Outlook and integration
Meta says it plans to consolidate its subscription offerings under the Meta One umbrella based on the outcomes of these tests. The company emphasizes that basic access to Meta AI will remain free, while premium packages will offer additional customization, compute power and distribution features.
