OpenAI and Broadcom jointly developed an AI chip called Jalapeño

According to an OpenAI announcement, the company jointly designed and manufactured its first artificial intelligence chip, Jalapeño, with Broadcom; the chip was specifically tailored for infrastructure serving ChatGPT, Codex and LLM workloads to expand the platform’s scale and access.
