Chinese company Streamax, a significant provider of video-telematics and AI-based fleet safety solutions, will integrate the vehicle-data conversion technology developed by Hungarian firm Inventure Automotive into its products. The agreement was announced by Inventure and constitutes an important export deal for the Hungarian company.
What the technology does
Inventure Automotive's solution addresses the practical issue that different vehicle manufacturers encode CAN-bus telematics data in different ways. The system converts these variably encoded data streams into a unified, processable format, enabling telematics providers and fleet managers to more easily and reliably access parameters such as speed, fuel level, consumption and maintenance data.
Supported vehicle models and business strategy
The company's database supports more than 3,000 vehicle models. Inventure's strategy is to complement its hardware development by increasingly building a business from licensable software and intellectual property, growing the share of software- and IP-based revenues.
Market context and significance
The deal strengthens Inventure's international growth, as the company already generates a large portion of its revenue abroad. According to the company's release, the vehicle-telematics market is rapidly expanding and is forecast to reach nearly $200 billion by 2034.
