The Hungarian government has launched a website at mihivatal.gov.hu to answer questions about artificial intelligence (AI) and to handle complaints related to AI, Science and Technology Minister Zoltán Tanács announced on his Facebook page on Thursday.
In a video shared in the post, Tanács warned that deepfake content and AI-generated images and videos pose growing risks because they can damage businesses and individuals. He said it is now possible to produce a video of almost anyone appearing to say or do things they never actually said or did.
The minister emphasized that regulation is needed to address these problems. He cited the European Union’s AI Act as an example, noting that the regulation requires AI-generated content to be clearly labeled.
The new information site aims to answer questions related to AI and to help users understand how to use these technologies safely. It also provides a channel for filing complaints for those who believe they have been deceived, exploited, or had their rights or interests violated by AI-related practices.
What mihivatal.gov.hu offers
- Information on legal and practical questions related to AI use.
- A complaints mechanism for deepfake and other AI-related harms.
- Guidance on the EU AI Act and the requirement to identify AI-generated content.
The initiative is intended to help citizens and businesses navigate AI regulation and promote the safe use of this technology.
