Microsoft will consolidate its Copilot experiences into a single super app during the third quarter, Satya Nadella said in an earnings report released on Wednesday. The consolidation will bring together the chat functionality, Copilot for Code, and the Coworks service.
According to the company, the new app will be available to everyone—from individual consumers to business customers—and users will be able to switch between consumer and business modes at any time, a point also noted in a May report by Fortune.

The move fits a broader industry trend of packaging chatbots and AI agents into unified platforms. As Gizmodo has observed, super app concepts have gained popularity because the AI industry expects consumer-facing chatbots and other AI products to evolve toward integrated experiences.
Other organizations are exploring similar ideas: OpenAI has been working on related concepts, and Elon Musk previously floated comparable plans during his discussions around acquiring Twitter. So far, however, many of these initiatives remain largely at the promise stage, with few concrete implementations visible in practice.
