OPTEN has introduced OPTEN AI, a service that lets users ask about a company and receive tailored answers instead of navigating menus and reading long company profiles. The system relies on OPTEN’s own verified and up-to-date company data rather than information gathered from the open internet.
Background of the development
The idea originated from a practical need voiced by Tóth Tamás, CEO of OPTEN: when arriving at a business meeting by car, there is no time to browse lengthy profiles, yet it would be useful to get a concise briefing by simply naming the company. While the initial goal was faster and more convenient access to existing company information, development revealed that the AI can do much more.
Capabilities of OPTEN AI
- It can process large volumes of company data simultaneously.
- It identifies relationships and analyzes connection networks; the demo included networks made up of several hundred elements.
- It generates personalized answers tailored to the user’s question, highlighting relevant relationships and the combined meaning of data.
- It does not guess: if sufficient data is not available for a claim, the system will not fill gaps with invented responses — a critical principle for business decisions, partner checks, and journalistic research.
Dr. Csorbai Hajnalka, OPTEN’s Strategic Director, summarized: “For thirty years we have worked to turn available company data into usable business information. With AI we not only access that data more quickly: we also help identify what is worth noticing in a given situation.”
Time savings when analyzing complex networks
At the September 30 demonstration, Dr. Csorbai Hajnalka and Ferenczi Gergely, OPTEN’s Director of Company Information, showcased the system using real examples, including data on companies connected to public figures and networks emerging from corporate ties of well-known individuals.
The technology’s real advantage appears when more than a single data point is needed. Manually reviewing a network of several hundred elements and identifying relevant links can require significant research; OPTEN AI automatically processes the available data and composes a question-specific, connection-focused response. Ferenczi Gergely noted: “The original task was to avoid needing to know which OPTEN menu contains a piece of information. During development it became clear that the AI’s real strength begins when you must review a volume of data and connections whose manual processing would take a lot of time.”
You do not always need to know exactly what to search for
Users do not have to formulate a precise corporate-information query to use OPTEN AI. They can describe the situation — for example, “I am about to sign a HUF 30 million contract with this company. What should I know about it?” — and the system will suggest which data, connections and relationships are worth examining for that situation.
If a user needs a specific fact — such as revenue, headcount or owner information — those remain quickly accessible through OPTEN’s familiar interfaces. The added value of the AI is greatest when the goal is to understand what the data mean together rather than to retrieve a single data point.
Availability
OPTEN AI will be available in both text and voice formats. The service becomes available on October 1.
