Opten has developed OPTEN AI, a voice-enabled system designed to quickly access verified company data and analyse complex corporate relationship networks. The product was demonstrated on September 30, 2024, and the service becomes available to users from October 1, 2024.
How the project started
The initiative began from a practical need voiced by Tamás Tóth, CEO of Opten: when arriving at a meeting by car, he did not want to scroll through company profiles while parking. He wished to simply name the company and have Opten read out the relevant information. The original aim was therefore to enable faster, voice-based access to existing company information.
Capabilities and how it differs from general-purpose AI
During development, the team found the system could do more than quick lookups: it can process large volumes of data simultaneously, surface relevant connections, and automatically analyse relationship networks comprising hundreds of entities. Opten emphasizes that OPTEN AI relies exclusively on Opten’s verified, up-to-date company database rather than on information scraped from the open internet. Consequently, if the system lacks sufficient data for a claim, it will not guess or fabricate missing details — a behaviour the company considers essential for business decisions, partner due diligence, and journalistic research.
Demo examples
At the September 30 demonstration, Dr. Hajnalka Csorbai, Opten’s Strategic Director, and Gergely Ferenczi, Director of Company Information, showcased real-case scenarios. They examined data on companies linked to public figures and the corporate ties that emerge around well-known individuals. The solution’s major advantage becomes clear when the task is not to retrieve a single data point but to detect meaningful patterns within a network of hundreds of nodes — a process that would otherwise require substantial manual research.
OPTEN AI processes the available records automatically and composes personalized answers tailored to the user’s question. Use cases include checking whether two actors had common corporate interests, tracing how companies are connected through specific entities, or identifying promising directions for deeper investigation within a large network.
Interaction model: specific queries or situational prompts
The service accepts both precise queries and broader situational prompts. A user can tell the system the context — for example: “I’m negotiating a HUF 30 million contract with this company. What should I know?” — and OPTEN AI will recommend which data points, links, and relationships to review for that scenario. If users need a specific datum (revenue, headcount, owner), they can still retrieve it quickly via Opten’s traditional interfaces. OPTEN AI’s added value is greatest when the goal is to understand how multiple data points interact, rather than to fetch a single fact.
Benefits
- Time savings: automated analysis of complex networks and relationships.
- Reliability: responses are based on Opten’s verified data and the system avoids conjecture.
- Accessibility: the service is available both by voice and text, enabling use before meetings or on the go.
With three decades of experience collecting and structuring company data, Opten is now offering a contextual, AI-driven way to access those insights more quickly — particularly useful when understanding the implications of data requires synthesising multiple records and relationships.
