Perplexity has made its agent capabilities available on Windows, following an earlier macOS release. The company describes the Windows agent as a “general-purpose digital assistant” that can access local files and applications to perform tasks on a user’s behalf.
The Personal Computer feature can create documents or update spreadsheets, and — according to Perplexity and reporting by The Verge — the Windows variant also has access to Microsoft 365 applications and the internet, allowing the assistant to carry out a broader range of automated tasks.
Perplexity says the Personal Computer will always notify users before performing any "sensitive" actions; examples of such actions include sending emails and deleting files.
Access to the feature is restricted to subscribers of the Max and Enterprise Max plans. The company’s stated price for those tiers starts at $200 per month, roughly equivalent to 63,000 Hungarian forints.
The move reflects Perplexity’s aim to expand interactive, agent-style AI functionality across desktop operating systems, while relying on user notifications to mitigate risks associated with sensitive operations.
