On November 7, 2025, Anthropic announced plans to open offices in Paris and Munich as part of a broader expansion across Europe. The new locations follow recent office openings in Tokyo, Seoul and Bengaluru, and will complement the company’s existing European sites in London, Dublin and Zurich.
Growth in the EMEA region
According to Anthropic, it has tripled the number of employees in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region over the past year. The company says EMEA has become its fastest-growing region: run-rate revenue in the region grew more than ninefold over the last year, and the number of large EMEA business accounts — defined as customers generating over $100,000 in run-rate revenue each — has increased more than tenfold.
Chris Ciauri, Anthropic’s Managing Director of International, is quoted as saying that Europe hosts many forward-looking companies and that business leaders recognize both the opportunity of AI and the importance of safety, reliability and public trust. He added that the company is expanding its specialized leadership to support sustained EMEA growth.
How customers use Claude
Anthropic’s Economic Index research is cited to show AI’s impact across established European industries, from German manufacturing to French tourism and Swedish web development. The company says its Claude model is being used by enterprises to write software, improve code and resolve network issues. Named customers include L'Oréal, BMW, SAP and Sanofi, as well as digital-native businesses such as Lovable, N26, Pigment, Qonto and Doctolib.
Role of the Paris and Munich offices
France and Germany are described as natural hubs for a deeper European presence; both countries rank among the top 20 worldwide for Claude usage per capita and host leading global firms across healthcare, financial services, automotive, aerospace and retail. Anthropic says the Paris and Munich offices will act as regional hubs for commercial growth, policy collaboration and partnership development. The company plans for its European workforce to cover research and engineering as well as sales and operations.
Leadership hires and regional structure
To support scaling in the region, Anthropic is assembling a dedicated leadership team for EMEA:
- Guillaume Princen will serve as Head of EMEA Startups, Mid-Market and Digital Native Businesses, focusing on growth in those segments.
- Pip White will be Head of EMEA North, leading go-to-market activities across the UK and Ireland, Benelux, the Nordics and Israel from London. The announcement notes Pip White brings 25 years of enterprise technology experience from companies including Salesforce, Google and Slack.
- Thomas Remy will be Head of EMEA South, overseeing France, Italy, Iberia, the Middle East and Africa from the new Paris office. Thomas Remy spent the past 11 years at Google Cloud where he helped build the business across EMEA and later led the Data & AI Go-To-Market team.
The company also says it will announce a Head of DACH & CEE to oversee Central and Eastern Europe, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Educational and cultural partnerships
To support its new operations in France and Germany, Anthropic is partnering with local educational institutions and cultural organisations:
- Anthropic is working with LAS Art Foundation to support a major exhibition planned in Berlin next year. LAS commissions and exhibits works by internationally recognised artists that explore the intersection of art and technology.
- The company is supporting two hackathons hosted by TUM.ai, a student initiative at the Technical University of Munich that trains students in software development, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Anthropic is partnering with Unaite, a French organisation building developer communities and advancing AI education, to support two hackathons scheduled for 2026.
Offices and recruitment
Anthropic now reports having offices in 12 cities, including San Francisco, Seattle, New York and Washington, D.C. The company says it will continue to expand headcount across Europe and directs candidates to anthropic.com/careers for information on job opportunities, including positions tied to the new Paris and Munich offices.
Overall, Anthropic frames the Paris and Munich openings as steps to strengthen its commercial footprint in Europe, enable policy and partnership work locally, and build the teams needed to meet growing demand from European enterprises and startups.
