Anthropic has announced Claude Corps, a national fellowship designed to expand access to AI skills and capabilities across communities in the United States. The program will train 1,000 early-career participants to use Claude, then place them in full‑time, in‑person, 12‑month roles at nonprofit organizations.
Anthropic said it is committing an initial $150 million to the initiative. The program has two main goals: equip host organizations with useful AI tools and systems, and help fellows develop AI skills that will benefit their careers.
Partnership structure
Claude Corps is organized as a three‑way partnership. Anthropic will fund the program, lead overall strategy, and provide Claude expertise. CodePath — an Anthropic nonprofit partner and a major provider of collegiate computer science education in the U.S. — will be the fellows’ employer of record and will lead the programmatic training. Social Finance, a nonprofit and registered investment advisor, will lead measurement and evaluation and build a longer‑term financial vehicle to enable scaling.
Fellowship model and support
- Each fellowship runs for 12 months. At the program start, Anthropic and CodePath will provide intensive training on using Claude in nonprofit settings. After placement, fellows receive five hours of ongoing training per week and spend the remainder of their time working at their host organization.
- Fellows receive a full‑time salary of $85,000 per year plus benefits. They also get support from a CodePath mentor, office‑hour access to Anthropic technical experts, an expansive Claude token budget, and professional guidance from their host organization manager.
Hosts and expected impact
Anthropic expects at least 400 nonprofits to host Claude Corps fellows in the next 12 months. Named host organizations include:

Partner organizations and nonprofit leaders said the fellows will accelerate data analysis, automation and technical capacity in ways that can directly improve service delivery—ranging from donor insights and distribution forecasting to secure survivor tools and program scaling.
Applications, eligibility and timeline
Applications opened on announcement and the first cohort application window closes on July 17, 2026. The first cohort of 100 fellows begins in October 2026. Two further cohorts will begin in January 2027 and August 2027; applications for those cohorts remain open on a rolling basis.
Anyone over 18 with fewer than two years of full‑time work experience may apply regardless of educational background. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S., comfortable working with Claude, and willing to relocate if necessary; relocation support is available as needed. Host organization applications are also open for all cohort start dates.
Evaluation, scaling and next steps
Anthropic said it plans to measure how host organizations advance their missions and how fellows develop skills and career prospects, using those findings to adapt the program. The company intends to open‑source some core technology and infrastructure that enable the program, to let others replicate similar initiatives and to explore expanding the model beyond the U.S.
