Anthropic has published ten prebuilt AI agent templates aimed at banks and investment firms, designed to take over time‑consuming tasks across research, client interaction and back‑office operations. The templates are grouped into two sets addressing analyst/customer‑facing needs and operational reconciliation and compliance work.
Which agents are included?
The first group contains five templates focused on research and client support:
- presentation‑builder agent,
- meeting‑prep agent,
- earnings‑report analysis agent,
- financial‑model builder agent,
- market‑research agent.
The second group targets financial operations and back‑office processes:
- company‑valuation review agent,
- general‑ledger reconciliation agent,
- month‑end closing agent,
- statement‑auditing agent,
- KYC (know‑your‑customer) verification agent.
How the templates are deployed
The templates are available as Claude Cowork or Claude Code plugins, allowing them to run alongside analysts’ existing desktop applications. Alternatively, firms can run the agents through Claude Managed Agents, where the agents operate autonomously on the Claude platform and can process full transaction portfolios or run scheduled, overnight jobs.
In parallel, Claude can now be used inside Microsoft Office via plugins. Integrated into Outlook it can triage incoming mail, schedule meetings and draft replies; in Excel it can build financial models, check formulas and run sensitivity analyses; in PowerPoint it generates automatically updating presentations; and in Word it edits documents to match a company’s branding templates.
Anthropic’s sector partnerships and funding move
Anthropic is expanding its footprint in financial services. Recently the company unveiled an agent for detecting financial crime developed in collaboration with FIS. Anthropic has also established a $1.5 billion joint venture involving Goldman Sachs, Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman, with additional support from Apollo and General Atlantic. That joint venture works with engineering teams at portfolio companies to develop bespoke AI agents.
Why this matters
These ready‑made templates and Office integrations could accelerate adoption of automated modelling, audit and reconciliation workflows in finance, while the Managed Agents option provides scalable background processing. The moves reflect a broader industry trend toward offering verticalized AI solutions tailored to banking and investment workflows.
