Involving outsiders in AI development and ensuring competition and safety through standards

The article proposes that stakeholders outside AI labs should have real input into the technology’s development and that safety should be verifiably monitored in a transparent way. It argues that standards are needed to prevent concentrations of power, support the competitiveness of new and open-model companies, and establish comparable evidence and learning mechanisms; the authors say that Egyesült Államoknak should lead this initiative.
