The Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) Faculty of Informatics is launching a free, practice-oriented training course for teachers, school leaders and education professionals to address challenges of the digital age. The programme aims to equip participants with practical pedagogical and digital tools to strengthen students’ "digital immune system": recognising disinformation and deepfakes, managing online manipulation and cyber threats, and using artificial intelligence responsibly in education.
Topics covered
The course offers hands-on approaches across several areas:
- Technical self-defence: applying source criticism and the ELLENŐRZÉS model; detecting and exposing fake news, deepfakes and phishing attempts using modern online tools.
- Psychological resilience: introducing the "Biological Firewall" concept and recognising emotional manipulation, influencer effects and parasocial relationships.
- Student safety and parental partnership: procedures for addressing cyberbullying and grooming (the "Digital Wolf") and building effective communication with families.
- Modern pedagogical strategies: the "Flipped Teacher" approach and applying the T.E.R.V. crisis-management model in everyday school situations.
- Artificial intelligence in learning: basics of prompt engineering, holistic lesson planning, ethical AI use, and identifying AI-generated "hallucinations"—confidently presented but false information.
Course format and requirements
The training is 30 hours in a blended format: 10 hours synchronous (in-person or online), 10 hours asynchronous self-study and 10 hours independent planning work. Participants receive ready lesson plans, simulation games and methods that can be applied directly in their teaching practice.
The final assignment is a lesson plan developed for the participant’s own student group, based on the methods learned. Successful completion entitles participants to an official ELTE micro-credential (European certificate).

The course is part of the international DRONE project. Course materials were developed by Turcsányi-Szabó Márta, habilitated associate professor at ELTE IK and the faculty’s dean’s commissioner for educational innovation.
