Hon Hai Precision Industry, commonly known as Foxconn, the world's largest electronics contract manufacturer, said its net profit for the April–June quarter rose 35% year‑on‑year. The company reported net income of NT$59.97 billion, exceeding the LSEG analyst consensus of NT$58.8 billion and up from NT$44.4 billion in the same quarter a year earlier.
Foxconn attributed the improvement in results to sustained demand for artificial intelligence (AI) hardware, noting that AI demand will be a defining factor for its full‑year performance.
Revenue outlook and guidance
In July the company had already reported roughly 40% year‑on‑year revenue growth for the second quarter. Foxconn maintained its prior expectation of "strong" revenue growth for the year but, as is its practice, did not provide a numerical full‑year sales forecast.
Production footprint and strategic moves
Foxconn continues to assemble the majority of iPhones in China, but said most devices sold in the United States are now manufactured in India. The company is also building factories in Mexico and Texas where it will produce AI servers for Nvidia. In addition, Foxconn is expanding into the electric vehicle (EV) segment.
Market performance
Foxconn shares have risen 17% year‑to‑date, lagging the Taiwan stock index, which has gained 57% over the same period.
