Microsoft’s latest Global AI Diffusion quarterly report shows that 33.3% of Hungary’s 15–64-year-old population used generative artificial intelligence in the second quarter of 2026. This is the highest rate among the Visegrád Four (V4): Poland recorded 32.3%, the Czech Republic 31.2%, and Slovakia 27.1%.
Hungary’s global position
According to the report, Hungary ranks 20th globally in the prevalence of generative AI use. In the same period, 18.8% of the world’s working-age population used generative AI in June.
Corporate adoption and recent growth
The survey found that 92% of the Hungarian companies questioned already use some form of artificial intelligence. Over one quarter, the share of users in Hungary increased by 1.1 percentage points; Poland’s growth was slightly faster, at 1.3 percentage points.
International leaders
Usage rates vary widely worldwide: the highest penetration was measured in the United Arab Emirates at 73.3%, followed by Singapore at 64.3%, with Ireland in third place at 49.9%.
Why these figures matter
The data indicate rapid adoption of generative AI in Hungary among both the population and businesses. The 92% corporate adoption rate and continued quarterly increases suggest the technology is becoming increasingly important in workplaces and business processes.
