Kifli.hu has integrated its online store into ChatGPT, allowing users to carry out grocery shopping through the AI assistant. To use the feature, customers must locate the official Kifli.hu app in the ChatGPT app menu and link it to their existing Kifli account.
What the ChatGPT integration can do
Through the integration, the chatbot can:
- search Kifli’s product catalogue,
- suggest recipes and list the required ingredients,
- assemble a shopping cart based on user instructions.
Users can ask the chatbot to find a specific product, plan a weekly menu with the needed ingredients, identify items from a handwritten shopping list, or recommend discounted products that suit a special diet.
Completing orders and payments
While the cart can be created inside ChatGPT, order finalization and payment still take place on Kifli.hu’s own website. After the cart is built, the system redirects the customer with a single click to Kifli.hu to complete the transaction.
Technical background and future integrations
The development is supported by a Rohlik Group server that uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open communication standard. This protocol allows the web shop’s system to connect securely to various AI services, meaning the platform can be linked not only to ChatGPT but also to other intelligent assistants in the future.
Kifli’s own assistant: Maia
In parallel with external integrations, Kifli.hu is continuing to develop its own AI assistant named Maia. Communicating in Hungarian, Maia supports the shopping flow within the web shop: beyond product search and cart assembly, it assists with selecting delivery time slots, handles customer service tasks, and supports secure payment.
Availability
The ChatGPT integration is available on both desktop and mobile devices. Instead of browsing traditional categories, users can describe their needs in plain language and the chatbot will build the cart accordingly.
