The Magyar Gépjárműipari Egyesület (MAGE) held its annual general meeting on 19 May 2026, during which members reviewed recent professional, advocacy and financial results and elected a new presidency and supervisory board. The assembly decided that Krisztián Róbert will continue as MAGE president, and Gábor Zoltán was chosen as chair of the supervisory board representing Deloitte Zrt.
Membership growth and event participation
According to reports presented at the meeting, MAGE’s membership has grown significantly over the past four years: from 61 member companies in 2022 to 80 in 2026, notably with increased participation from Tier1 and Tier2 suppliers. Leadership said this growth reflects a rising need for cooperation and professional platforms amid rapid technological and economic transformation in the automotive industry.
MAGE has played an active role at several major industry events, including the MAGE–Portfolio Járműipar Conference, the Techtogether engineering student competition and conference, and the Automotive Hungary exhibition. The events focused on automotive competitiveness, electromobility, industrial applications of artificial intelligence, digitalization and sustainability.
Regulatory representation and policy dialogue
Advocacy work was a highlighted topic at the general meeting. MAGE has taken part in numerous regulatory consultations affecting the automotive sector and has in several cases been directly involved in legislative processes. Key areas of engagement include:
- the NIS2 directive
- CO₂ fleet regulation
- employment of third-country nationals
- pay transparency
- domestic implementation of the EU AI Regulation
- energy efficiency and sustainability regulations
MAGE maintains regular contact with ministries and policy-makers to ensure that the perspectives of the Hungarian automotive industry are represented in decision-making.
New members and international ties
The meeting introduced MAGE’s newest member companies: BYD Auto Hungary Kft., KUKA Robotics, Nokia, VALEO, EnergyHub, Besser Hungária Kft., Miell Quality Kft. and Skshield Us. The association said these additions further strengthen its role within the domestic automotive ecosystem.
MAGE has also expanded its international connections, including joining the ACEA CEE AutoHUB initiative, which supports EU-level representation of Central and Eastern European automotive interests.
Composition of the new presidency and supervisory board
Krisztián Róbert continues to chair the presidency in his capacity as representative of Magyar Suzuki Zrt. The presidency members are:

The supervisory board chair is Gábor Zoltán (Deloitte Zrt.), and its members are Koncz Barbara (PwC Magyarország) and Dr. Nádasdy Zoltán (WTS Legal Ügyvédi Társulás).
According to meeting feedback, MAGE plans to continue expanding membership, deepen international cooperation and strengthen regulatory representation to support the competitiveness of the Hungarian automotive sector.
