LG Electronics (LG) has introduced the ARTCOOL AI Air, a new air conditioner designed to deliver personalized comfort, a premium appearance and simple operation. The unit is built on LG’s AI Core‑Tech platform and can learn and recognize users’ habits and preferences to automatically optimize cooling, heating and airflow.
Artificial intelligence and control
The ARTCOOL AI Air’s AI features adjust airflow strength and direction in real time while taking room characteristics and occupant positions into account. The AI Air mode aims to create an optimal indoor environment automatically, and users can monitor and customize settings remotely via the LG ThinQ app. The Sleep Timer+ function fine‑tunes temperature and airflow based on usage patterns to support restful sleep.
Design and airflow solutions
The new ARTCOOL model has a modern, minimalist design: a glossy black reflective glass front complemented by horizontal louvers running along the lower section that combine aesthetics with effective air distribution. When air is directed solely through the front outlet, the unit’s special multi‑row louver structure enables an airflow direction spanning more than 180 degrees, producing a smoother and more evenly distributed airflow within the room.
Energy efficiency and consumption monitoring
LG ThinQ includes an AI kW Manager that displays the unit’s energy consumption in real time and allows users to set custom consumption limits, helping them manage electricity use more consciously. Energy reduction is further supported by window‑opening detection and an occupancy sensor: the window‑opening detection switches the unit to an energy‑saving mode when it senses sudden temperature changes (for example due to an open window), and the occupancy sensor triggers energy‑saving operation if the room is unoccupied for an extended period.
