Meta has introduced a new app called Pocket that enables users to create small interactive apps and games—referred to in the app as "gizmos"—by providing AI text prompts. The app positions itself as a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos and includes a scrollable discovery feed where users can play gizmos created by others.
Link to Gizmo and Meta's acquisition
Pocket bears many similarities to Gizmo, the vibe-coded gaming platform whose development team Meta acquired earlier this year. Gizmo’s original app also allowed users to generate small interactive experiences from written AI prompts and featured a discovery feed; that app remains listed in app stores.
Launch timeline and discovery
Reverse engineer and app sleuth Alessandro Paluzzi posted a Google Play screenshot of Pocket on X on July 2, 2026. App intelligence provider Appfigures reports that Pocket first appeared on the App Store and Google Play on June 29, 2026. Because the app is very new, Appfigures could not confirm any download numbers yet.
Meta has not responded to requests for comment, and the company has not made an official announcement about Pocket, suggesting the app may still be in an early experimental stage.
How Pocket fits Meta's AI strategy
Pocket continues Meta’s push to mainstream AI creation tools. The company previously released AI-generated images via its Meta AI app and AI video creation through its Vibes app, and it has added AI features across its social platforms and into Edits, its video-editing app for creators.
Gizmo’s historical performance
According to Appfigures, Gizmo amassed 635,000 lifetime installs across iOS and Google Play and recorded roughly 98% positive sentiment among users.
