Meta has quietly launched Style Sketch, an AI-powered fashion app designed to help users digitize their wardrobes and create outfit suggestions from clothes they already own. The app can build a virtual closet by connecting to a user’s Instagram photos, or by letting users add items manually via a photo, a short video, or images uploaded from the device camera roll.
Features and how it works
Style Sketch recommends outfit combinations based on the items in the virtual wardrobe and the user’s style. According to the app description, users can virtually try on suggested looks on a “realistic model matched to your body shape and skin tone.” The app also allows selecting a specific wardrobe item and generating fresh outfit ideas centered on that piece.
Weather- and trip-aware planning
The app can plan outfits for trips: if users enter a destination, trip length and planned activities, Style Sketch provides day-by-day outfit suggestions that take the weather forecast and itinerary into account.
Availability and notice
Social media consultant Matt Navarra first spotted the app and tweeted about it on October 28, 2026. Style Sketch is currently available in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand on iOS and Android. Meta did not respond to TechCrunch’s request for comment, and it is not known whether the company plans a wider rollout.
Market context and Meta’s broader push
Several existing apps and services already use AI to digitize wardrobes and visualize outfits, including startups such as Alta and features in Google Photos. Observers suggest Meta’s competitive edge may lie in the app’s integration with Instagram, where many users already keep a visual record of their personal style.
Style Sketch is one of multiple recent AI-focused apps from Meta. In recent months the company has released other small apps, including Waddle World, Pocket and Vibes. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that CEO Mark Zuckerberg told employees Meta intends to release substantially more apps as AI-led efficiencies accelerate development and deployment.
