The municipality of Nagyoroszi has rolled out an artificial intelligence–based customer service, the development was reported by PC World. The system is currently in a learning phase and draws its knowledge exclusively from information available on the town's official website.
How it works and availability
The service is accessible as a chat interface on Nagyoroszi's website. Behind the chat, a system is operating that aims to speed up and streamline responses to residents' queries. The solution remains in a testing stage and continuously "learns" from the municipality's published materials.
Usage and early results
Dávid Ádám, deputy mayor and project lead, said the website receives about two thousand visitors per month, many of whom look for information already published on the site. As a result, the use of AI is already reducing the workload of municipal staff to some extent.
Since launch, the system has handled roughly seventy questions; the digital assistant was unable to answer only two of them. According to the project lead, this is an encouraging outcome for an early testing period.
Why this matters
Automated customer service tools introduced at local governments can deliver faster handling of inquiries and reduce administrative burden, especially for questions that are already covered on official platforms. Nagyoroszi's implementation illustrates both the quick deployability of AI solutions in smaller municipalities and the potential for reliability to improve through ongoing testing and refinement.
