Nvidia and South Korea’s SK Group will hold a joint announcement on Monday to outline plans for cooperation, the companies said. The press briefing will be led by Cshö Thevon, chair of the SK Group, together with Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia.
Areas of cooperation
Jensen Huang told reporters the partnership will span multiple areas, from AI-powered supercomputers and processors to robotics. He did not disclose further details ahead of the formal announcement.
Memory-chip shortage could last years
Huang also assessed the state of the memory-chip market, warning that shortages could persist for years due to very high demand. He highlighted that shortages are present across the industry supply chain — from silicon wafers and packaging to silicon photonics.
Preparatory meeting in Seoul
On the evening before the announcement, Huang dined in Seoul with Cshö Thevon, Kvak Nodzsong, CEO of SK Hynix, and other SK Group executives. The meeting followed the local "chimeg" tradition of fried chicken and beer.
