OpenAI suspends cutting-edge reinforcement learning training for safety and alignment

OpenAI announced it has suspended certain cutting-edge reinforcement learning (RL) trainings to ensure appropriate alignment, safety, and monitoring standards are met; the decision is justified by the rapid advance of model capabilities and the need to catch up on safety, while they still intend to make advanced capabilities available.
