Opten has introduced the Opten AI assistant, the company announced at a press briefing delivered by Csorbai Hajnalka, Opten’s strategic and operational director. The new tool is intended to make it faster and easier for businesses to map potential partners, suppliers and competitors using Opten’s corporate information.
Capabilities of the Opten AI assistant
According to Opten, the assistant analyses relevant data and relationships from the Opten company database to provide structured, substantive answers to business queries. The product is presented as capable of addressing practical questions such as “I am about to sign a HUF 50 million contract with this company — what should I know?” by collecting and interpreting pertinent information.
Key features highlighted by Opten include:
- identifying strengths and weaknesses of the target company based on Opten’s data;
- summarising findings in tables and charts;
- quickly displaying direct ownership and relationship networks, and mapping indirect links to reveal the broader corporate network.
Use cases: risk assessment and journalistic research
Csorbai Hajnalka noted that a company may appear to perform well on its own, while subsidiaries or sister companies could have serious issues that materially affect the whole group. The assistant is designed to help uncover such relationships.
Opten also emphasises the tool’s usefulness for journalists conducting background research, for example when investigating companies’ ownership structures and business ties, or determining how many companies are connected directly or indirectly to a particular entrepreneur.
