Tanács Zoltán, Hungary’s Minister of Science and Technology, held a meeting with the prime minister to discuss digital initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of public administration, strengthening national cybersecurity, and leveraging opportunities offered by artificial intelligence (AI).
During the meeting, officials presented concepts for collaborative digital tools designed to support administrative work, accelerate internal procedures, and simplify interdepartmental cooperation. Strengthening Hungary’s cybersecurity featured prominently: participants identified the key government tasks needed to reduce security risks.
Alongside immediate measures, the cabinet also focused on longer‑term technological trends, notably the future of digitalisation and the development of AI. In a social media post, Tanács emphasised that it is a governmental responsibility to continuously monitor technologies — including AI — and to prepare the state administration both to exploit arising opportunities and to manage potential risks.
The minister underlined the importance of timely state responses to technological advances, arguing that public administration must adapt to technological change to realise organisational and economic benefits.
