The U.S. Army conducted tests of the Next-Generation Command and Control (NGCC) system — an AI-enabled effort to improve battlefield command — according to reporting by Axios. The trial took place in July near Fort Irwin in the California desert.

The exercise involved several thousand soldiers, ran for nine days, and evaluated 90 different technologies.
