Webalyze.ai has successfully carried out the first live-environment test of its offline advertising analytics system at Nyugati Square, one of Budapest’s busiest junctions. The Hungarian-developed solution uses a humanoid robot equipped with a 360-degree camera to capture outdoor advertising in real time.
How the system works
The system is built around a humanoid robot that serves as the carrier unit; the development team guided the robot through the square during the test. A 360-degree camera mounted on the robot continuously records outdoor advertising surfaces in the environment — for example billboards, citylights and vehicle wraps. Webalyze.ai’s AI-powered analysis engine records four key data points for every detected ad:
- the advertiser’s identification,
- the communicated message,
- the precise geographic location,
- and the time of appearance.
Collected data are processed in real time, enabling immediate insights into the offline advertising present at the site.

Clients of Webalyze.ai can track competitors’ offline presence via a transparent interface: in which formats, with which messages and with what frequency they appear on the market. The system automatically provides data that were previously difficult, partial or impossible to obtain in the offline advertising space.

The robot operated reliably, and the data we collected were already in a processable, usable form by the end of the test day.”
Next steps and full operation
Building on the Budapest experience, the development team will carry out further measurements at international locations. Webalyze.ai plans continuous, live operation to begin in the first quarter of 2027: thereafter the robots will traverse designated routes several times per week while the software continuously records and analyzes detected advertisements. The company says this will create, for the first time, a regular time-series database of the offline advertising market, aiming to bring the measurement accuracy familiar from the online world to outdoor advertising.
