On September 7, 2023, Anthropic announced Claude Pro, a paid subscription tier for its Claude.ai chat experience. At launch the plan is available in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Claude Pro subscribers receive five times the usage allowance for the company’s latest model, Claude 2, compared with the free tier. The monthly price for the subscription is $20 in the US or £18 in the UK. Anthropic noted that Claude.ai, which launched in July, has quickly become a day-to-day assistant for users who value longer context windows, faster outputs and stronger capabilities for complex reasoning.
What Claude Pro includes
- Five times more usage of Claude 2 than the free tier, enabling substantially more messages and higher resource use.
- Priority access to Claude.ai during high-traffic periods, reducing the likelihood of slowdowns for subscribers.
- Early access to new features designed to help users get more out of Claude.
The announcement also says the new tier responds to user requests for more file uploads and support for longer-running conversations. Anthropic reiterated its commitment to building systems it describes as helpful, honest and harmless.
