The Faculty of Informatics of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) is hosting a free Family Day on 20 June 2026 (Saturday) from 10:00 to 17:00 at the Lágymányos Campus (Pázmány Péter sétány 1/A, Budapest). The event aims to present robotics, drone technology and artificial intelligence in an accessible, hands‑on way for visitors of all ages.
What visitors can expect
The program combines short public talks with interactive demonstrations: attendees can meet a humanoid robot, try a piano‑playing robot, see robot dogs, fly a drone through an obstacle course, build LEGO robots, and learn about underwater robotics. The day also features presentations of research and industry developments and workshops that introduce practical AI skills.

The talks cover applications of robotics and AI in education, healthcare, industry, research and underwater exploration.
Interactive demonstrations and workshops
- Drone obstacle course: practice basic piloting with training drones, then test skills on an obstacle course.
- World Robot Olympiad (WRO) tracks: try out tasks from the international robot olympiad.
- Meet a humanoid robot: Infuze Robotics will showcase the Unitree humanoid robot.
- Underwater robotics: demonstrations of Hungarian‑developed robots with specialized sensors for mapping flooded mines and hidden passages.
- Rocket science up close: view a 3.5‑metre research rocket developed by BME and meet the student engineers.
- Prompt wizard workshop: practical tips on how to ask effective questions to AI for study, work and creativity.
- RoboPianist — piano‑playing robot: use Kodály method hand signs to control a piano with AI assistance.
- ELTEKar controllable go‑kart: a child’s go‑kart retrofitted to operate under university‑developed autonomous software.
- FaceGym — facial exercise with AI: an interactive demo where AI tracks facial movements and gives playful feedback on emotional states.
- LEGO robot building and programming for children and adults.
- Robot dogs of various sizes in indoor and outdoor demos.
During the day there will also be testing, judging and prize‑giving for a robotics card‑game development competition.
Who’s involved and why attend?
Researchers and university staff from ELTE IK and ELTE TTK, industry partners such as Infuze Robotics, Enjoy Robotics, Bosch and UNEXMIN Georobotics, and student teams like BME Aerospace contribute to the program. The event is designed to make technology tangible for families, students and tech‑curious visitors, demonstrating practical uses of robotics and AI in everyday life and scientific work.
Admission is free. The event will take place at ELTE Lágymányos Campus on 20 June 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00.
